Jose mourinho admitted that he feared if Chelsea were going out of the Champion League after watched Porto striker Ricardo Quaresmo scored for the first half but Jose’s team hit back with two goals for the second half with Arjen Robben’s 48th minute leveler and Michael Ballack’s 79 minute winner goal to place Chelsea in the quarter-finals.
Chelsea has been draw to face with Valencia and luckily all three English clubs would not meet each other with speculation vote. The possible situation may occur in Champion League Final which two English clubs will face each other. Year 2005 saw two greater clubs Chelsea and Liverpool faced in semi-finals with the result Chelsea lost 2-1 with controversial winning goal from Luis Garcia.
Chelsea is trying to record the first winning of Champion League title for 52 years in club history and even it is impossible, for Jose Mourinho he implied that the chance still have if the team make more struggle to win. Other clubs qualified for the quarter-finals is Milan with 6 records winning the title, Manchester United (2), Bayer Munich (4), Liverpool (5) and PSV Eindhoven (1) Roma used to go to final 1984 but it had lost to Liverpool.
However, bidder agent has put Chelsea is the best choice to win the title this year with 11-4 followed by Manchester United (10-3) and Liverpool (5-1). |
